Commencement is actually defined as “the act or process of beginning.” Students who graduate from college are beginning a new direction in their lives; they are traveling a new path on a long journey into the future. On Friday we will celebrate the beginning of that journey.” Of the 1,053 graduates, 416 (40%) are male while 637 (60%) are female. The ages of the graduates range from 19 to 64, with an average age of 27. Approximately 58% of the graduates are traditional, while 42% are non-traditional. The most popular graduating major is Liberal Arts, Associate in Arts. In spring 2005 BCC graduated 974 students.
